Tacoma Treats for Valentine's Day

Guys, I have the worst sweet tooth. Usually, it’s for something like ice cream, but I can’t say no to a macaron either. And the holiday of sweets is around the corner…Valentine’s Day. Oh yea, I’m excited for a good excuse to eat some sweets. If you don’t get your SO flowers, then a sweet treat to say, “I love you, hun” is always a nice gesture. Here’s a few ideas to get you rolling…

Hello, Cupcake - Some delicious cupcake flavors this month that are very Valentines-y like chocolate raspberry and Shirley Temple. Oh, and if you are a Children’s Museum of Tacoma member you get a free mini cupcake with a purchase.

Ice Cream - Oh, ice cream. Yum. This is more of a let’s all go get a treat Valentine’s thing since, you know, ice cream melts. Although, you could pick-up a pint and hide it in the freezer. I have a whole list of ice cream options (see the post here), but two favorites are Bliss Ice Cream and Ice Cream Social.

Metropolitan Market - I love this market. If I could shop here for everything, I would. But, I can’t. Tear. The bakery and goodies here are awesome. Of course, there is “the cookie,” but their macarons are top-notch and they have cakes, cupcakes, tarts, cookies and chocolates. They have flowers and cards, too. Gosh, it’s a one-stop-stop.

Girl Loves Cake Desserts - There is a pop-up at Paper Luxe on February 13th where you can buy some delicious macarons. Here’s the Facebook event link! I looovve macarons and used to make them…but, then I had kids.

Kelly’s Chocolates - Another pop-up over at Compass Rose in Proctor on February 8th to get some delectable and beautiful chocolates. Here’s the Facebook event link!

Proctor Farmer’s Market - The Proctor Farmer’s Market is only once a month for the first three months of the year. This month’s market is this weekend on February 8th. There are some great options for treats like Little Dipper Confections and Retreat Drinks. Also, flowers. Ha, flowers on Valentine’s day, who’da thought.

Tease Chocolates - This place is a hidden little gem over in the Stadium District right by Stadium Thrityway. Little truffles and chocolate confections are perfect. Oh, and fun fact, this is the chocolate Valhalla uses in their mochas.

Tacoma Baking Co. - The newest kid on the block. They had some long lines, but they have some delicious goodies. I want to try The Sophie (a Linzer white chocolate cherry tartlet) and The Sara (chocolate banana mousse cake dome). Eh, drooling.

Corina Bakery - The tried and true bakery, Corina Bakery, is bound to have some delicious options. Their instagram was also touting some macarons. Oh, and they noted, “due to high demand please call 48 hours in advance to secure your order!”

Olympia Coffee - Random, but they have some delicious macarons and treats. Grab a coffee for yourself, too.
