Quick Getaway to Seabrook in Late June

This weekend, we went on a mini getaway with friends to Seabrook. It was our first time there, and we loved it. I see why it's a popular family destination! It felt safe, had many kids' activities, and was beautiful.

If you haven’t been, I highly recommend it! Keep an eye out as I see specials and discounts on their website for bookings on holidays. Join in with a friend and make it a tradition. I’m ready do it again!

Here’s what we did for our quick getaway the last weekend of June.

Friday

We arrived in the evening after dinner because my husband had been stuck working longer than we'd hoped. Our friends were there already and had checked us in and already at the house. We stayed at the Pacific Breeze, which was a perfect spot for our two families.

Saturday

  • Breakfast & Early Morning: We ate breakfast at the house (we did a Costco run before coming, so we had English Muffins, etc). The playground was across the street, so the kids played while the adults drank coffee and prepared for the day.

  • Morning: Saturday was the first day of the Seabrook Farmer's Market. It was in the little downtown and had some fun vendors. We bought some beef sticks and lotion, and I treated myself to a Kspek sweatshirt.

  • Lunch: At the house (some beef sticks we bought) and sandwiches with bread we purchased from the Vista Bakery. Yum!

  • Afternoon: We went to the beach, and the kids had a blast even though it lightly rained (it was still pretty warm!). We brought our Surfer Dude, which was a big hit in the water. There was also some digging, of course.

  • Early Evening: We went straight to the indoor pool so the kids could submerge themselves in water. There is also an incredibly hot hot tub.

  • Evening: We made burgers at the house and enjoyed the evening in our Seabrook home.

  • Note: Summers there is an evening block party on Saturday, but it got canceled due to the weather.

Sunday

  • Breakfast: My husband and I grabbed some pastries and coffee at Vista Bakery and brought them back for everyone to enjoy.

  • Morning: We went to the the Old Cedar Stump and the Gnome Trail. The kids loved the little gnomes and fairy houses. If you go, bring some gnome village things!

  • Morning and lunch: We found ourselves at the outdoor saltwater pool and spa. The water was so warm, and the spa was quite big. Towels are provided at both pools, a nice touch.

  • Lunch: We grabbed some nibbles at the pool and returned to the house.

  • Afternoon: The husbands took the kids to the arcade, and the moms went shopping around town. We loved the toy shop and made smashed pennies for the kids as souvenirs.

  • Late Afternoon: All good things must end, and we had to get off and go back home. Note: Check-out is early (10 am), so we were lucky since our friends were staying another night!

There is so much more, too. We didn’t get to everything since it was a quick weekend getaway, so we need to go back for sure! Yup, this is something I can make into an annual tradition. I hope our friends are on board because it's so fun to go with friends! Have you been to Seabrook?

Tips for things to Bring:

  • Plenty of food from home with you - the market is spendy!

  • Swim gear and pool gear like balls, goggles, floaties, and dive sticks

  • Beach toys (surfer dude!) and towels.

  • Don't bring the wagon—we had to abandon it halfway down since there are many stairs to the beach unless you drive to Sandpiper (which they own and allow you to drive onto the beach).

  • Scooters or bikes for the kids + helmets

  • Sweater for those cooler mornings/evenings

  • Gnome and fairy things for the Gnome trail
