LOL: Lots of Links - Volume 3
/I'm currently down in San Diego visiting my parents with Caleb. My husband had to stay back home for work. Caleb is loving in "Mimi" (grandma) and "Papa" (grandpa) time. He did a great job on the flight! Hopefully, I can say the same for the return trip!
Before our flight, I downloaded two new apps for Caleb, and both were a hit. The Petting Zoo and Little Kitten. You should check them out!
My dad thought it funny that we came to California for better air quality. Is it really hazy up there in Tacoma and Seattle? I guess it's the worst air quality of the year due to wildfire smoke.
I had a very scare three-ish minutes of my life last week while at the Wheelock Library. I lost Caleb for just a couple of minutes, but it was the worst couple minutes EVER. I started to panic when I didn't see him in his usual spots. The staff there was great and luckily, Caleb was wise to go back to the storytime room and find our friend and he asked her for me. Scary. This is rang more true to me after this experience: Do you know what to do if you look round and your child is gone?
After having kids, should we still call it a vacation? This article was interesting in describing a vacation versus a trip.
Caleb is so picky when it comes to eating, so I thought maybe I should try some of these tips out.
Fall isn't that far away, and neither is that rain. We all tend to forget about rain during the summer, but it's bound to return. I'll have to bookmark some of these "indoor survival guide" ideas for when those rainy days come back.
I had no idea how much we have to teach our children before I had Caleb. We have to teach them to sleep, eat, go potty - so many things you take for granted. Here's a A Teacher’s List Of 10 Things To Teach Your Child Before Kindergarten. We're headed to preschool for the first time this fall. We better get learning!
I always feel guilty when it comes to screen time. Do I let Caleb watch too much? This article was encouraging on my guilty conscience, Why Our Family Doesn’t Limit Screen Time
This cracked me up: 17 Things That Always Happen When Your Family Finally Sits Down For Dinner
Really?!? This surprised me: Tacoma, Olympia Among Top Ten Cities with Most Nice Days. Now, what's the criteria for "nice days," hmm?
Who doesn't love getting a good compliment? Some good tips for compliments.
I'm starting to see people post photos of their kids first day of school. I reminded me that maybe I should put our felt board together to announce Caleb's first day of preschool in September. Oh, and do people still get 'first day of school' outfits? I want to get Caleb these cute tags to label his things. Don't let me go onto Minted anymore, okay?
I will remember to do the giraffe pose next time I have my photo taken. Ha!
I'm not convinced Caleb is ready to do a full shopping trip with me, yet. But maybe in the near future. When the time comes, I might consider a few tips to survive grocery shopping.
I'm late to the game, but I got an Instant Pot for Prime Day. I have been using it at least once a week and so far I'm really enjoying it. So far, favorites have been this Chicken Chile Verde, soft-boiled eggs, and Chicken Tikka Masala with Cauliflower and Peas. I also think it makes some good rice! I want to try all the things, but I think steel cut oatmeal would be a great breakfast. Here's my Pinterest board, if you're interested. What are your favorite recipes?
